Public Hearing, April 10, 2018 @ 7:30

We will be presenting the Second Draft of the plan to Planning Commission and the public on Tuesday April 10th.

This will be the formal public hearing and discussion by planning commission of the updated comprehensive plan prepared over the past year.

You can download a copy of the plan Envision Harrison, and the Development Type Pattern Book both can be reviewed on your screen or printed.

The plan is designed to be 11×17 for maximum readability, and we will have posters and a limited number of draft copies available at the Planning Commission meeting next week.  Please come show your support for the vision for our future.  The next step after Planning Commission approval will be the City Council Public Hearing.

Having reviewed the Pattern Book, it seems there should be a fourth option on the Parks page. Community Parks should be added, the National Recreation and Park Association defines Community Parks as 25 acres in size that are typically within 1 to 2 miles of residents. Community Parks are active highly developed parks that include ballfields, soccer fields, court sports, excercise stations, walking trail, and swimming pool.

      Hi Jim,
This is an astute comment, and I will present it to Council this evening for consideration. I do not see any challenge to adding a community scale park to the mix of appropriate development types for the city.
